At The Focus Group, we are continuing to grow our clinical services across both corporate wellbeing (Focus Connect) and NHS Talking Therapies. We are now looking to expand our network of Associate Therapists who can support us in delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced therapists seeking flexible freelance work, with the backing of a supportive and clinically robust organisation.

About the Role

As an Associate Therapist, you will work on a freelance basis, delivering therapeutic interventions to individuals accessing our services through corporate clients and NHS pathways.

Work may include:

  • Providing one-to-one counselling sessions (remote and/or face-to-face)
  • Supporting clients with a range of presenting issues
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
  • Working in line with professional, ethical, and organisational standards

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a recognised counselling qualification (minimum Level 4 Diploma or equivalent)
  • Be registered or accredited with a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP, NCPS, UKCP) and be working towards accreditation if registered
  • Have a minimum of two years’ post-qualification counselling experience
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to ethical, safe, and high-quality practice

Desirable Criteria

  • BACP Accredited or NCPS Accredited / Professional Accredited Registrant (P-NCPS) status
  • A qualification in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD)
  • Experience working within NHS Talking Therapies services and/or workplace wellbeing provision
  • Familiarity with outcome measures and structured short-term models (where applicable)

Requirements for Associates

  • Hold valid professional indemnity insurance
  • Be engaged in regular clinical supervision in line with professional body requirements
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 2 days per week (where possible)
